Saginaw, Michigan– Guided Grace Family and Youth Services, a non for profit organization, will present Fashion and Reflection taking place Saturday September 16th at the Temple Theater 201 N. Washington in Saginaw at 4pm for the first time and will feature local youth, artists, pastors and clergy, community leaders, and activists, mental health professionals, fashion designers, seamstresses, community groups, state and local lawmakers and government officials.
This is a free event that will uniquely remember and honor 8 children lost to gun violence through creatively designed forms of fashion and cultural expression. We will use the community’s pre recorded statements to express how the trauma of violence in our community affects us all. In addition we will hear from those in the field of mental health about ways to begin to heal in the areas of grief, trauma, domestic violence, suicide, and anxiety.
“ This is a fabulous idea and a way to help the community come together. I will be
in attendance.”—Mayor Brenda Moore
